“Choosing A Purpose, Or To Have No Purpose Is One Of The Most Difficult Decisions About Group Travel.” - Josh Gauthier

A group can have a specific purpose or no purpose.  You can gather everyone together for a specific activity or interest or make it as simple as a gathering of friends for a period of time.

Will It Be A Family Gathering?

Having an extended family located all over the country or world means that you rarely get the chance to get together and catch up.  Large scale family reunions with aunts and uncles and others traveling from all corners is difficult to coordinate.

Who’s flying in and when?  Who will stay with whom?  That’s why getting everyone together in one central location works better.  Travel distances are one of the biggest consideration when planning your group adventure.

How many adults, teens and young children will there be?  Knowing the age ranges of the group helps plan activities and coordinate childcare.  Many resorts and Cruise Lines have areas dedicated to keeping the young people active and engaged under supervision.  This allows the adults time to explore and adventure.

Multi-generational trip all you to plan time with each relative and  specific experiences for quality time.  How cool it would be if your kids could spend a day with Uncle Bob kayaking, snorkeling or taking a biking adventure?

Will It Be A Friends Group?

Once we’ve left the nest whether that’s high school, college or military we tend to lose track of our friends over time.  If we’re not in constant contact with someone it’s human nature for the relationship to dwindle until there is no connection anymore.

Is it a group of new friends you’ve met while working or living in a new city and you want to spend more time in depth with them.  Travel is a great opportunity to create immersed time with people ty take your friendship to the next level.

What about other couples?  Do you and your significant other hang out with other couples on a regular basis an want to get away for a bit?  You may share some common interests or have  dream of visiting somewhere together.

Will It Be A Hobby Or Organization Trip?

Are you interested in specific hobbies or activities?  Rock Climbing, Hiking, Biking, Needlepoint, Cuisine there’s no end to specialty tours out there. Have you joined a local club and everyone's looking to take a yearly trip?  To indulge in their passion, to get away from work and the business of their day to day life.

Do you belong to a local club or organization?  Is it time to setup a yearly adventure to network and build connections?  Can you make it part of a fundraiser for your favorite charity.

Biding your group adventure around a hobby or organization allows you to spend time doing what you love with people you enjoy being around.

Are You Looking For A Group?

Have you started a new hobby, looking to connect with like minded people in your industry?  Or do you have an intense interest in an activity no one in your local area enjoys or does?

There’s groups out there for that.  Learning bagpipes in Scotland, culinary tours all over the world, wine, whiskey, and other spirits also have affinity groups.  It’s amazing what’s available out there when you let your imagination run wild.
